Tripp Gobble '10 Wins National Entrepreneurship Competition
On November 19, 2008, Tripp Gobble ’10 won first place in
the music category of the national Race
to BE. The Sound competition in Austin,
Texas. The Race to BE is the
centerpiece event for Global Entrepreneurship Week USA and was initiated to encourage
young creative artists between the ages of 18–29 to become entrepreneurs in film,
music, and fashion.
Tripp was awarded the $5,000 prize for co-founding Vinyl Records, the first-ever nonprofit student-run record label and music incubator program at the UniversityNorth Carolina at Chapel Hill. Today, Tripp will ring the bell at the New York Stock Exchange with hip-hop pioneer Russell Simmons along with the winners of the film and fashion Race to BE. contests. of
